Commerce Secretary Holds Annual Meeting with Japan Counterpart

They review progress on economic cooperation in Washington, D.C.

This week, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo and Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) Saito Ken held their third annual partnership meeting in Washington, D.C. The two leaders discussed the progress in economic cooperation between their two nations, especially with regard to the development of semiconductors, AI, quantum, and biotechnology.

The Department of Commerce stated that Secretary Raimondo and Minister Ken also “agreed to continue existing, robust export control cooperation to address national security threats and protect critical and emerging technologies from abuse by malign actors who seek to use them in contravention to our regional and national security interests.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Raimondo to receive the Lord’s direction as she collaborates on economic and technology cooperation with Japan and other nations.
  • For U.S. commerce officials to be discerning in their partnerships on commerce, trade, and national security.
